Bio

Susan Nichter is an artist and Professor at Suffolk University/ Art & Design. She teaches studio courses, as well as Creativity & Innovation courses and a First-Year Seminar. Susan has taught several study abroad courses in the Czech Republic and Italy. Grants include a Fulbright to Italy, and most recently a Whiting Foundation Grant to Indonesia; a MacDowell Colony Residency; Skowhegan School Scholarship, and two Mass Cultural Council LCC Grants. Susan was a judge for the St. Botolph Foundation “Emerging Artist Award.”

Born and raised in NY, she received an MFA in Painting from Boston University, studied Choreography at Columbia University, and acting at the Stella Adler School, NYC after her receiving a BFA from Boston University. Susan performed at Carnegie Hall.

Her works are in these selected collections: The Harvard Company; Fidelity Investments; Graham Nash; J. Makowski Associates; Pius Fisher, German Press Office at the Vatican. Her public work projects include Bromfield Faces for the Boston Improvement District, and The Healing heART Quilt, Spaulding Rehab Hospital, Dean Center in Charlestown.
